VAW Lorena Cocioni – Cosmic Striptease

VAW – Vitrine am Wasserturm is an exhibition space on the Areal Böhler. Since April 2025, it has hosted rotating exhibitions of contemporary art. Artists who have exhibited there so far include Dardan Zhegrova, Saskia Tamara Kaiser, Marie Schubert, and Christoph Blawert.

For the upcoming exhibition, curator Julika Bosch has invited Bucharest-based artist Lorena Cocioni (born 1995 in Constanța, Romania) to develop a site-specific work for the Vitrine. Cocioni’s artistic practice explores bodily perception in the context of material, technological, and biopolitical environments. Drawing on forms of physical and emotional experience, she also uncovers hidden body politics that shape our relationships to the past, present, and future.
