The Veedelszoch in Nippes is one of the oldest traditional district parades in Cologne: it has been taking place every year since 1914. The parade is organized by the Nippes militia - the Appelsinefunke. The parade has only been interrupted by bans, world wars and the Gulf War in 1991.
What's particularly cool about the Nippeser Zoch on Veilchendienstag is its informality: anyone can take part! There is no prescribed motto or minimum group size.
Set-up location: Rennbahnstraße from 9 am
Procession route: Friedrich-Karl-Straße - Neusser Straße - Wilhelmstraße - Merheimer Straße - Sechzigstraße - Ulrich-Zell-Straße - Hartwichstraße - Merheimer Straße - Merheimer Platz - Siebachstraße - Cranachstr.
