White has paved the way for bands like The Kills, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Deap Vally. All of them feature charismatic women at the forefront, celebrating a mix of garage, blues, fuzz rock, and riot grrrl punk. A scene where an exciting new band has recently parked its rusty van: Velvet Two Stripes. Finally, a European band ready to compete with the scene’s big names, challenge the guys in their garage, and prove that young women certainly do have a knack for real blues.
