About the book:
Spring 1525. The Peasants’ War is raging in Lower Franconia. A massive army of rebels is marching toward Würzburg: Marienberg Fortress, the princes’ last stronghold, is set to fall. Amid the turmoil, Madlen, a runaway serf, returns to the city on the Main. After traumatic experiences in Florian Geyer’s *The Black Horde*, she longs for peace and safety. But the sea of blood and tears that was once prophesied to her threatens to engulf Madlen and the people she loves once and for all.

About the Author:
Silvia Heid, born and raised in Nuremberg, lives with her family on the outskirts of Franconian Switzerland. She worked for many years in the tourism industry and has been interested in the history of her homeland since her youth.
Her passion for telling this story and bringing it to life led her to write. “A Time of Blood and Tears—Würzburg 1525” is her second novel.
