At so-called "Jewish auctions", the Nazi state auctioned off what remained in the homes of displaced Jewish people. This included a necklace in Karlsruhe in 1941. The family of the buyer remained silent about where it came from. After his death, his granddaughter searched for the rightful Jewish heirs. And turned to the "Zurückgeben" foundation for provenance research: Are there any descendants who have survived? And how will they react to the news 80 years after the Holocaust began?

The documentary and lecture by Sharon Adler will tell the story. The journalist and photographer has been a volunteer director of the "Zurückgeben.
