In the organizer's words:
To kick off the exhibition "Kölner Kinder gestalten. Diverse. Future." a vernissage with speeches will take place on June 2 from 5 pm. Over hot and cold drinks, we would like to get into conversation together and pay tribute to the children's work. Both the vernissage and the visit to the exhibition are free of charge.
The exhibition objects were created by pupils from An St. Theresia Community Primary School in Cologne-Buchheim. Many of these children experience daily that they are reduced to a small part of their identity. Their personality, their ideas, their dreams and their potential often go unnoticed. This deprives them of the opportunity to be perceived as diverse, creative and valuable members of our society.
The exhibition aims to break through these one-dimensional narratives and make visible who these children really are and what they mean for our common future. Because they are not just part of our society - they are already actively shaping it today and will continue to do so in the future.
