Vernissage Kunstausstellung "Ein Teil von Mir, Ein Teil von Dir!"

At the opening of the exhibition, various poetry slammers, poets and authors will perform their texts. Afterwards, there will be a joint discussion about the content and topics. We cordially invite you to join us.

At the opening, we want people with experiences of migration and flight to have their say and open the exhibition with their voices. Voice and text will take over the space and create a special atmosphere in which you can experience on an artistic level what it means to live in Germany with a history of migration or flight.

About the exhibition

In cooperation with the Düsseldorf Central Library, the exhibition will be on display in KAP 1. In this exhibition, participants with experiences of migration and flight tell their personal stories. On display are works of art, poems, photographs, texts and other artistic formats. The participants work intensively on the realization and use the exhibition as a space to make their experiences, perspectives and voices visible.

As part of a collaboration with the K20 Museum, a patchwork quilt will be created by the participants together. This collective work of art symbolizes cohesion, connection and diversity and shows how individual stories become part of a common whole.

The multimedia exhibition "Ein Teil von mir, ein Teil von dir - Düsseldorfer Migrations- und Fluchtgeschichte" (A part of me, a part of you - Düsseldorf migration and flight stories) tells the personal migration and flight stories of young people aged 16 to 34 from Düsseldorf. In video contributions, artistic works, portraits and interactive elements, the participants provide insights into their lives - characterized by origin, arrival, identity, challenges and empowerment.

The exhibition makes migrant perspectives visible and shows Düsseldorf's diversity in its many facets. It sees itself as an artistic and social space for dialog, encounters and recognition. The focus is on the question of how young people with migration or refugee experience present themselves and what relationship they develop to their own history.

The exhibition will be on display from 08.06.2026- 14.07.2026 at KAP1 in Düsseldorf.
