Sabine Michling is an architect by training - characterized by precision, planning and clear lines. However, she has deliberately moved away from this in her artistic work. Her first works were created from waste products from building sites, objects that she rethought and transferred into a different context. This led to the development of an experimental practice that still forms the core of her art today. Over time, she has attended painting courses for abstract painting, but her actual approach arises from the process itself: intuitive, open and without a fixed concept. She does not work towards a clearly defined goal - rather, each work develops as she does it. The original idea of a picture changes continuously; the result is often surprising and differs fundamentally from the initial idea.
She uses a wide variety of materials for her creative work - wood, metal and canvas. What remains constant is her approach of consciously moving away from architectural rigor and instead focusing on freedom, change and experimentation.
The vernissage with a selection of artworks will be accompanied by a vocal performance by Anthi Coussios, Sabine's daughter.
Art in the club
Every two months we invite you to a vernissage in the Atelier Theater Klub. Visual artists enrich our theater atmosphere with their works and there are special musical contributions. The art in the club is then on display for around two months. Free admission to the vernissage.
