VICENTE GARCÍA - Dominican musician, singer and composer

Vicente García is a Dominican musician, singer and composer and winner of 4 Latin Grammys, including "Best Folk Album" for Camino al Sol in 2023. He is the former lead singer of the Dominican alternative rock band Calor Urbano, which he left in 2010 to pursue a solo career, combining influences of traditional Dominican genres such as bachata and merengue with modern styles of reggae and funk.

His music combines Caribbean rhythms with avant-garde and alternative elements that allow him to live in a unique sound universe. Vicente García has produced four studio albums: "Melodrama" (2011), the multi-award-winning "A La Mar" (2016), "Candela" (2019) and "Camino al Sol" (2022). Vicente García's latest work was written during the pandemic; it is a fresh collection of songs that clearly shows the journey he has undertaken with Richard Blair through string instruments and experimentation. Songs that play with simplicity in a light and friendly tone. This album won the "Best Folk Album" Latin Grammy in 2023.

Vicente García has collaborated with renowned artists including Juan Luis Guerra, Alejandro Sanz, Cultura Profetica, Juanes, Ximena Sariñana and Maná, among others.

He will be accompanied by his band, which is touring Europe this summer and will return to Berlin on June 30 to perform at SO36.
