Vienna, Vienna, just you alone! The Austrian capital has always been a bustling cultural metropolis. Above all, however, it is constantly at the center of music, art and literature. The city on the Danube has not only been much sung about, but also much written about: Vea Kaiser(Fabula Rasa or Die Königin des Grand Hotels), Eva Menasse (Vienna), Verena Roßbacher(Verlangen nach Drachen) and David Schalko(Schwere Knochen) are the literary city guides and subject the stereotypes to a reality check: they invite us to Melange and Tschick in the coffee house, take a trip to Vorarlberg, sneak us into the balls of the Viennese chic crowd and stagger with us through the grindy underworld until the evening finally ends at the sausage stand. We meet waltz queens, strizzis and Wunderwuzzis. All of this is presented to us with a good dose of Viennese humor - of course!
