Vier Hände - Feurige Tänze

Yu-Jen Chang and Cheng-Tai Chang enchanted our audience two years ago, so it quickly became clear that the two of them absolutely had to come back. Now the wait is over!

Their new concert program invites the audience on a musical journey centered on dance. The focus is on works that, in very different ways, are shaped by movement, rhythm, passion, and cultural diversity.

They dedicate the opening of the concert to Johannes Brahms. His waltzes combine refined elegance with heartfelt warmth, while the famous Hungarian Dances shine with energy, temperament, and folkloric colors.

As the concert progresses, the journey takes us to Latin America. Astor Piazzolla’s *Histoire du Tango*traces the evolution of the tango from the pulsating brothel scene around 1900, through the melancholic atmosphere of the café, to the modern concert stage. The program concludes with Arturo Márquez’s rousing *Danzón No. 2*—a work brimming with rhythmic tension, rich colors, and a dance-like zest for life.

The result is a varied afternoon that brings together different countries, styles, and eras—from Vienna and Hungary to Argentina and Mexico. Here, music becomes dance, and dance becomes a musical narrative.
