Benefizlesung mit Pauline Hatscher
In the organizer's words:
Pauline Hatscher reads from her debut novel, *Über vier Leben*—to benefit Nummer gegen Kummer e.V.
Mirabell longs for closeness yet cannot allow it. In search of an explanation, she delves into her family history: Why did her great-grandmother disappear? Why did her grandmother no longer want to live? And why does her mother remain silent to this day?
“Über vier Leben” is a moving family story about solidarity, the past, and the traces people leave behind in the lives of their descendants. Pauline Hatscher, born in 1998, was a finalist in 2022 at “open mike,” the most important competition for emerging young writers.
She will be reading at the Haus der Universität on Schadowplatz, a historic palace right next to the Kö. In conversation with her: Dominique Pleimling, publishing director at Eichborn Verlag. Following the reading, there will be a book signing, refreshments, and time for intergenerational conversation.
The Soroptimist International Club Düsseldorf Königsallee invites you—a global network of professional women dedicated to women’s rights. The evening is open to everyone. Proceeds will go to Nummer gegen Kummer e.V., the helpline for children, teens, and parents. There, too, the focus is on having someone listen before silence turns into something bigger.
