Vorlesung im Kolleg: Ukrainische Geschichte im überregionalen Kontext

In the organizer's words:

The lecture aims to present different approaches to the history of Ukraine and medieval Rus', the multi-ethnic empire of Poland-Lithuania and the Russian Empire. Ukrainian history thus becomes an exemplary center of the history of Eastern Europe in a transcontinental context.

Prof. Dr. Rohdewald has been a university professor for the history of Eastern and Southern Europe since 2020. He studied and completed his doctorate in Zurich until 2004 and was initially Professor of Southeast European History in Giessen from 2013 to 2020. In addition to his thematic focus on urban history, memory discourses, migration history and transculturality, he concentrated on the history of interdependence between Eastern Europe and the Middle East. He examines various cultural areas such as Serbia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Belarus, Ukraine and the Ottoman Empire.

The lectures take place as face-to-face and livestream events. With this booking option, you can decide individually for each date whether you want to follow the lectures with like-minded people in presence in the Audimax or the event conveniently from anywhere in the world via livestream.
