Public Climate School

In the organizer's words:

It's that time again! From May 13-17, 2024, the fourth Public Climate School of Students for Future Leipzig will take place!

We are convinced: Change starts with education! That is why we are organizing a total of around 50 events on the topic of climate justice during this week to inform, discuss and gather strength. There is something for everyone in our program: from panel discussions with experts on topics such as climate activism in the Global South, climate and food or the effectiveness of climate activism, to workshops, lectures and exciting interviews, everything is included. A special highlight this year: On Wednesday at 2 pm, we will be talking to Luisa Neubauer about EU elections in times of climate crisis and populism! There will also be more creative program items such as a reading stage for climate feelings, a film screening or a reading with live songs. On Friday, at the end of the week, there will be an introduction street where some Leipzig activism groups will be taking part with a stand, a step towards becoming active so as not to fall back into resignation after all the education.

We are really looking forward to this week full of free climate education and are opening the doors of the university to anyone who is interested! Anyone who would like to relax a little over cake and coffee or talk about what they have heard is also welcome to pay us a visit at the Couch Café, which is set up daily from morning to afternoon in the university courtyard. The events are usually held in German, but there are also events in English. The building is barrier-free.
