Wallraf – vom Sammeln zum Museum. Kunst+Kind. Mit Baby ins Wallraf
In the organizer's words:
Before the Wallraf closes for a comprehensive renovation and the addition of a new wing to house its Impressionist art collection, we’d like to invite you on an exciting journey through the history of Cologne’s oldest museum. Together, we’ll explore the story of Ferdinand Franz Wallraf and his extraordinary collection, which laid the foundation for today’s Wallraf-Richartz Museum & Fondation Corboud.
The focus of our “Art+Kids” tour will be on the medieval collection—one of the most significant and extensive of its kind. Amid precious paintings, religious artworks, and fascinating stories, we’ll immerse ourselves in the captivating world of centuries past. Look forward to an entertaining tour full of discoveries and exciting insights into the museum’s history.
KUNST+KIND offers young parents with babies under one year of age the opportunity to take a 45-minute break from the daily routine of caring for a baby every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month at 11:00 a.m.
In themed museum tours, art experts take turns presenting highlights from the Museum Ludwig and the Wallraf-Richartz Museum. The best part: You can simply bring your baby along!
Afterward, there’s a chance to chat about the experience over coffee and make new friends. Parents with a particular appetite for art can then use their day pass to continue exploring the museum.
