WANDELKONZERT

At this popular concert series, visitors have the opportunity to experience early music of the 17th and 18th centuries in the unique setting of the palace. After dreaming themselves back to bygone times to the atmospheric and historic sounds of the Neue Düsseldorfer Hofmusik, they can then let their impressions take effect while strolling through the Corps de Logis.

The Advent scent of cookies and mulled wine is not the only reliable guarantee of a festive Christmas mood. Brightly lit baroque rooms and glorious music from princely times also set the mood for the approaching Christmas.

At this festive Christmas concert you will hear baroque cantatas and instrumental concerts. The focus will be on compositions by George Frideric Handel, Christoph Graupner and Antonio Vivaldi. The concert will focus on the theme of harmony, which was described by Handel in his cantata "In Praise of the Art of Music", the premiere of which took place in London in 1736, as follows: "Your melodious sound adorns the poet's song, the strings' quivering play; melodic is your way and course, and harmony your goal".
