Wanderung: Von Balgstädt zum Hirschrodaer Graben
In the organizer's words:
Historic paths, an impressive lost place and fantastic views
Hiking excursion: from Balgstädt to the Hirschrodaer Graben
What awaits you
We meet at the main train station in Halle and travel together to Balgstädt, where our historical circular tour begins. From the station, we set off on historical paths and follow the old post road to the mysterious Toppendorf ruins. From there, the trail leads us on to a real natural gem: the unique nature reserve and refuge "Hirschrodaer Graben". We circle this wild natural phenomenon and reach the idyllic street village of Hirschroda. From there, we climb up to the Wurmberg, from where we have a magnificent view over the entire course of our tour and back to the Toppendorf ruins. On the way back to Balgstädt, another visual highlight awaits us: a fantastic panoramic view of the majestic limestone slopes directly opposite, below the Zscheiplitz monastery. An all-round fascinating tour full of history and far-reaching views!

About me
Hey, I'm Thomas, a certified hiking guide with the German Hiking Association and a passionate hiker. My heart beats for the wonderful landscapes of my home region. Whether Saale-Unstrut, (southern) Harz or the Lower Saale Valley. From Halle, it often takes less than an hour to reach breathtaking natural and cultural landscapes that are waiting to be discovered. My preference: quiet paths, ancient places of power, the most beautiful views. I would like to share my passion with you here and invite you to come with me - into the breathtaking, mysterious and beautiful nature on your doorstep. I look forward to seeing you there!
Why I love this tour
This tour inspires me with its deep historical character and wild contrasts. The Hirschrodaer Graben feels like a hidden refuge, and the final view of the bright limestone slopes of Zscheiplitz is one of the most beautiful views in the Unstrut valley for me.
