With the site-specific performance Watertongue, Alessandra Eramo explores the deep connection between voice and environment, entering into a dialog with the "ecological memory" of a constantly changing landscape. Through mimetic singing, water sounds, ritual gestures and narrative elements, the voice connects with its surroundings. The performance opens up a perceptual space in which breath, sounds, fragmentary melodies, invented languages and real and imaginary water sounds merge.
