We Want to Live Forever
In the organizer's words:
To mark the 80th birthday of Freddie Mercury, one of the 20th century’s most outstanding musicians, we are hosting one final Queen Unplugged evening. For some time now, we have been staging this extraordinary concert around the birthday of the former Queen frontman. This year marks the final Queen Unplugged concert.
For years, the Capitol Ensemble has been celebrating Freddie Mercury’s music in the rousing show “I Want It All,” earning not only a large fan base but also a deep understanding of Queen’s music. During the Unplugged evening, the band performs the legendary songs acoustically.
In 2026, the concert will once again feature a string quartet composed of musicians from the German State Philharmonic Orchestra of Rhineland-Palatinate.
With Birgit Widmann, Sascha Lien, and Sascha Kleinophorst as vocalists, we can look forward to a wealth of Queen expertise, unique sonic experiences, and powerful emotions. Irena Müller, Francesca Galiano, and Daniel Würfel will join the trio as soloists for the finale.
