Contest of the poets

For years, the phenomenon of poetry slam has been conquering not only the stages of cultural venues, clubs and pubs, but also the hearts of many listeners with its unmistakable mixture of literature and performance. Authors of all genres present their texts within a time limit and are put to the vote of the audience. Form and content are completely free. This makes every poetry slam an exciting and gripping event where nothing is predictable.

Let's look forward to fireworks of words and emotions, the best entertainment, great humor, but also depth, thoughtful tones and biting criticism. For this "deluxe" edition, WORD UP! has lured some of the most renowned slammers from all over Germany to the Alte Feuerwache. Heidelberg music cabaret artist Samuel Kilian will accompany the evening and regular host Philipp Herold will lead the evening.
