Workshop: Arm Balances
In the organizer's words:
ARM BALANCES
Crows, Flying Splits, and Other Arm Balances
How do you get your feet off the ground—and what does the body actually need to balance on its hands?
In this workshop, we’ll work on the Crow, various Crow variations, Flying Splits, and other arm balances. We’ll explore how to shift our weight, build support through our hands, arms, and upper body, and organize our entire body so that our feet feel lighter and eventually lift off the ground.
It’s not just about strength. Timing, weight distribution, flexibility, coordination, and the way the whole body works together are key factors in determining whether an arm balance feels difficult or suddenly becomes surprisingly accessible. With preparatory exercises, different variations, and plenty of time to experiment, we’ll develop, step by step, the skills we need for various arm balances.
The workshop is suitable both for those new to arm balances and for anyone who already knows individual poses and wants to better understand, vary, and further develop them.
We take photos and videos for our public relations efforts. By registering for this event, you consent to the taking and distribution of photos in which you are depicted.
This is a 2-hour workshop. All you need to bring is comfortable clothing. Mats are provided. Advance registration is required, as space is limited.
