Workshop 'Community Musik'

In the organizer's words:

MUSIKLABOR - Who plays the music?

Are you a musician? Or have you always wanted to make music?
The Un-Label Sound & Music Department is looking for you. With or without a disability. With or without previous musical knowledge. With your own instruments or not.

For all music lovers among you, we have two great workshops on offer at the end of winter.

On Saturday, 28.02.26, the sound artists of the mixed-abled collective SONA invite you to an electronic-oriented session based on the principle of "electric cooking".

The following Sunday, 01.03.26, will be dedicated to "Community Music": Pianist Lucca Keller and drummer Till Menzer of the mixed-abled jazz trio open excess and composer Benedikt Fuchs will lead a session with analog instruments.

The following applies to both workshops: Previous musical knowledge and own instruments are not necessary, but welcome. The offer is aimed at people who want to make music in an inclusive context.

The "Community Music" workshop

Immerse yourself in a day full of shared sounds, new encounters and creative discoveries! Our Community Music workshop invites people of all ages and musical backgrounds - whether beginners, curious hobby musicians or experienced instrumentalists with or without disabilities - to make music together. What is community music? Clearly: access to music and music-making for all people. And the foundation that diversity and individual skills, interests and backgrounds are important and valuable for making music together. For one day, we will explore different ways of making music together - with plenty of breaks to take a deep breath, exchange ideas and arrive. The focus is on joy, togetherness and the courage to try out new things. We improvise, listen to each other, develop small musical ideas and create something together. The workshop is open so that everyone can get involved - regardless of previous knowledge, age or musical style. You are welcome to bring your own instruments if you have any. Instruments are available to borrow on site. Nobody has to be able to play or own anything to take part!

When booking your ticket, please indicate whether you would like to bring your own instruments and if so, which ones.

The workshop is aimed at professional and semi-professional artists with and without disabilities from the performing arts: directors, dramaturges, performers, actors, dancers, choreographers, musicians, authors as well as cultural workers and interested parties.
