Flowing Forms

Eef's intensive invites you to dive into the power of imagination while developing full-body awareness through organic, dynamic, and rhythmic movement. Through guided improvisation, you will explore a wide range of techniques and movement qualities, using imagination as a driving force to unlock new possibilities and deepen your connection to the body.

This exploration will evolve into movement phrases that gradually develop throughout the workshop days. You will be challenged while refining textures, musicality, and composition. Eef's movement style is shaped by the choreographers she has worked with.

Evelien Jansen

(1998) is a Dutch dancer, teacher, and emerging choreographer. She graduated from the Amsterdam University of the Arts (Urban Contemporary) and began her career with Hofesh Shechter Company II. She has since worked with the company in Political Mother: The Choreographer's Cut, the feature film En Corps by Cédric Klapisch, and The Final Cut, directed by Hofesh Shechter.

After working with Humanhood and Komoco (Sofia Nappi), she established herself as a freelance artist in the Netherlands, collaborating with choreographers including Faizah Grootens, Anne Suurendonk, Dalton Jansen, Ruben Chi, and Jasper van Luijk. She has also created and taught work for institutions such as Scapino Ballet and Codarts, and her own pieces have been presented at festivals and venues including Lowlands Festival and Korzo Theater.

Her movement language is organic, dynamic, and rhythm-driven, with a strong focus on full-body integration. Emotion and honesty lie at the core of her work, both as a maker and performer.

WORKSHOPS

In each workshop, participants work intensively over the course of 3 days with one of the artists.

Evelien Jansen's workshop is an INTENSIVE - meaning a faster pace, intended for highly motivated participants, dancers with more experience, and professionals.

SUMMER ACADEMY

The TanzFaktur SommerAkademie - Cologne's international festival for contemporary dance - takes place every year in mid-July. The large-scale two-week festival is a platform for high-caliber national and international artists, projects and collectives.

In addition to the performances, workshops for professionals and dance enthusiasts offer opportunities for dialogue between dance professionals and the audience.

Eefs Intensive invites you to immerse yourself in the power of imagination while developing a holistic body awareness through organic, dynamic and rhythmic movement. Through guided improvisation, you will explore a wide range of techniques and movement qualities, using imagination as a driving force to open up new possibilities and deepen your connection to your own body.

Over the course of the workshop days, this exploration develops into movement phrases that are built up step by step. You will be challenged while honing textures, musicality and composition. Eef's movement style is influenced by the choreographers she has worked with.
