Terrazzo-Workshop
PICK OF THE DAY
You cannot miss this event.
In the organizer's words:
In this workshop, we combine the terrazzo look with painterly, experimental design processes. The starting point is working with Jesmonite—a sustainable, versatile, mineral-based casting material—which is used not only for classic terrazzo textures but also for free-form, gestural color compositions.
After an introduction to the material, colors, and technique, the focus shifts to a playful exploration of pigments, movements, and layering. Inspired by painterly techniques (e.g., gestural applications of color in the style of Jackson Pollock—on a small scale), participants will create unique surfaces that straddle the line between design objects and artistic expression.
In addition to smaller objects such as small bowls or coasters, decorative or artistic slabs can also be created. The workshop is suitable for both beginners and participants with prior experience. All materials are provided.
The finished pieces can be taken home immediately at the end of the workshop once they have hardened.
