Wyatt E. are coming to Leipzig on November 19. The Belgian band describes their music as “Antique Doom” —and that’s exactly what it’s all about: heavy, slow music that takes you on a journey into an ancient world of exile, myth, forgotten cities, and lost civilizations. The story begins with the deportation to Babylon following Nebuchadnezzar II’s siege of Jerusalem in 587 B.C.

With “zamāru ultu qereb ziqquratu Part 1,” Wyatt E. will release the first part of a two-part concept album in 2025. The album delves deeper into the world of ancient Babylon from the perspective of those exiled from Jerusalem, blending massive doom with saz, viola, sitar, bugle, analog and digital soundscapes, and two drummers recorded simultaneously.

For the first time, the album also features two vocal tracks: Nina Saeidi sings in Akkadian, and Tomer Damsky in Aramaic. The album was mixed by Tim De Gieter, known for his work with Amenra, Brutus, and Absent in Body; mastering was handled by Jack Shirley.

Live, this isn’t a classic doom show, but rather a slow, concentrated distillation of depth, repetition, and tension. Music that doesn’t push forward but opens up a space: heavy, archaic, hypnotic.
