MC Rene has been many things in his career: freestyle maestro, Viva host, stand-up comedian, indie rap icon with chart hits. Since the beginning of the year, the hip-hop pioneer has been broadcasting on a new wave: as an author, he reflects on contemporary phenomena in a series of essays - sparking wild debates.

In them, he demystifies Spotify & Co. or racist narratives from Didi Hallervorden to Dennis Schröder and buries gatekeepers of the scene (R.I.P. Juice & Splash). His longreads replace social media snapchat with inspired deep dives - with attitude and battle-trained punchlines.

With his essays in tow, MC Rene and 𝑋𝑌ℤ host Uh-Young Kim reflect on the year 2025 live at Nachtigall. Retrogott then plays a few records.
