In the organizer's words:

"It's not what you think, allow me to clarify" is a dance piece that opens a dialogue about resettlement, flight and migration - especially for people from developing countries and people of color in times of tightened immigration policies. The piece draws attention to "the other half of our reality" - people from devastated nations recovering from colonial unrest and corrupt leadership, carrying within them a seed of potential, resources and new beginnings.

Yasmine Calasse consistently deals with the consequences of colonialism and, together with her team, adopts a differentiated perspective on the topic of migration, debunking stereotypes and questioning the logic of "white saviorism".
