Yin yoga is a very calm form of yoga that uses long postures to reach the deep connective tissue and release blockages. With increasing age, stress and lack of exercise, our fasciae (connective tissue) can become matted and stick together. This often leads to pain and restricted movement.
The good news is that with methods such as yin yoga, the tissue can gradually relax and loosen up again. Our fascia usually becomes more supple again and can even rejuvenate. Leading fascia researchers, such as Dr. Robert Schleip, also recommend yin yoga!
