ZOOT WOMAN - MAXIDRAMA TOUR 2024

In 2001, brothers Johnny and Adam Blake exploded onto the burgeoning indie scene as ZOOT WOMAN together with their bandmate Stuart Price: their debut album "Living In A Magazine", an instant classic, blew journalists and fans alike away and is considered the starting signal for the formation of a whole series of 80s-influenced electro-indie acts. The Brits' iconic sound aesthetic - minimalist synthpop with an 80s vibe à la New Order and Giorgio Moroder - sounds perfectly balanced: elegant and cool on the surface, powerful and pulsating in the depths.

The band created their own genre and quickly became the focus of the international music scene: they were celebrated by Madonna, who immediately asked Price to produce them. ZOOT WOMAN are also responsible for edgy co-ops with artists such as dance music titan Solomun or acts like Âme, Einmusik, Iron Curtis and Moscoman, they have worked with artists such as Jessie Ware, Justice and Mimi Webb and have been shaping European indie synthpop for over two decades.

In their longevity, the act, which now works as a duo, is completely timeless and the Englishmen have never followed trends. With each album, they have managed to develop and reinvent themselves in their own cosmos. With success: they have fans all over the world and have established themselves as a versatile act both in the studio and on stage.

Their last two longplayers "Absence" and "Redesigned" were followed by extensive worldwide touring, after which ZOOT WOMAN returned to the studio and shared the first tastes of new material with a series of singles: ZOOT WOMAN finally announced "Maxidrama" as their seventh studio album for 2024. The long-awaited new release contains a clever combination of sophisticated, emotional melodies, captivating danceability and shimmering synthesizer textures - and presents itself as one of the band's most imaginative works.

Johnny Blake's unmistakable voice floats above vintage synths and iconic drum machines - ostensibly unapproachable, but ultimately more melancholy and emotional than ever before: "Our approach to writing this time was more original than ever. We allowed ourselves drama in the songwriting because that was what surrounded us. 'Maxidrama' represents the extremes we have to deal with, whether we like it or not, in our lives and in our relationships."

The new material - rousing songs like "Control Of The Wheel", the optimistic single "Another Time Like Now", the killer "Live And Learn" or the unashamedly infectious "Blind" - remains true to ZOOT WOMAN 's signature sound and is made for the stage. Consequently, ZOOT WOMAN are announcing a long overdue new tour of Germany: The Blake brothers will play exclusive shows with current tracks, but will of course also include all the big hits on their setlists.
