Live on stage, live on air: Following last year’s huge success, the Hamburg Open Online University (HOOU) is once again bringing together voices from the city for a special event: On Tuesday, October 6, starting at 7 p.m., fans can experience four different podcasts live on stage, one after another, at the Hansa Theater. HOOU initiated the event and will be represented itself with the podcast “Hamburg, What Do You Want to Know?”

How do we want to live in Hamburg?

This year, all the shows share a common theme: Together with their guests, the podcast hosts will discuss from various perspectives how we want to live in Hamburg tomorrow. How can we lead healthy lives, what does urban development look like, and how and what do we want to learn? Each podcast brings its own topic and guests to address these questions of sustainability.

The following podcasts can be experienced live on stage in the Hansa Theater auditorium. During the intermission, there will be an opportunity to speak directly with the hosts and guests:

Hamburg, What Do You Want to Know?: What would you like to learn again if you had the freedom to choose and the time? In the HOOU podcast, well-known figures from the city present their three favorite learning opportunities offered by the online university. Their selections spark a personal conversation, alternately with Christian Friedrich and Nicola Wessinghage: about learning, life, opportunities, dreams, and education that shapes the future.

Elbvertiefung: “Elbvertiefung” is the daily newsletter from the Hamburg desk of *Die Zeit*. It covers politics, culture, the economy—and everyday life in Hamburg. Time and again, the editor-in-chief of ZEIT:Hamburg, Maria Rossbauer, and the “Elbvertiefung” team also discuss live a topic that is currently on the minds of Hamburg’s residents. In the Hansa Theater auditorium, they will discuss how Hamburg can remain a livable city for its citizens in the future.

SINNESWANDELis a podcast that bridges philosophy and pop culture. Journalist Marilena Berends discusses the search for meaning, creativity, self-doubt, social fractures, and life in a state of constant change. She reflects aloud on topics such as sustainability, meaning, the future of work, and social change. In doing so, she combines personal observations with philosophical reflections. People and stories take center stage—they show how we can think and act differently if we choose to.

Synapsen Podcast: The “Synapsen” hosts, Korinna Hennig and Beke Schulmann from NDR Info, speak with journalists and guests from the scientific community about current issues in health research. They take their audience into the stress lab or the climate wind tunnel—places where health, the environment, and climate are considered together. With food for thought and “aha” moments.
