Under the title “A Dialogue Among Three,” the 6th Chamber Concert features works that explore every facet of the rare sound texture created by two violins and a viola. The Slavic program opens with Antonín Dvořák’s warmly radiant Terzetto, followed by the Romantic miniatures, Op. 75a, which evoke wonderful atmospheric images of Bohemian nature and the folk spirit. The rarely heard trio by Ukrainian composer Mykola Lyssenko adds a charming and similarly folk-inspired work from the late 19th century to the program. The concert comes to a cheerful and playful conclusion with Serenade No. 2 by the Czech composer Bohuslav Martinů.
