The artothek - space for young art has been offering the opportunity to borrow works of art in Haus Saaleck since 1973. It also shows an exhibition program of Cologne artists and international guests with room for experimentation - from painting and drawing to sculpture and photography to installations and performances. Jeehye Song This year, the Friedrich Vordemberge Fellowship for Visual Arts was awarded to Jeehye Song. On this occasion, new paintings by the artist, who was born in Seoul in 1991, will be shown. Her works, deal with human figures in everyday sceneries, in private surroundings or banal ambience. With refined complexity, the works visualize situations of depressing emotional depth. At the same time, their strength lies in moments of revealing, self-deprecating comedy that can accompany such difficult times.
