The Seippel Gallery was opened by the art historian Dr. Ralf-P. Seippel in Cologne in 1993. Since then, the focus has been on innovative and international contemporary art. In 2000, Galerie Seippel moved from the Belgian Quarter of Cologne to more spacious premises at Zeughausstraße 26 (Haus der Stiftungen). It is now located in Cologne's main gallery district, within walking distance of the cathedral and directly opposite the famous "Römerturm", the oldest upright building in Cologne (50 p.c.).

The gallery's artists represent a broad field of contemporary art, including painting, sculpture, photography, graphics, video, installation and light installation.
