Founded by Peter Kegelmann in the early 1980s, the Knubbel was initially a small, "knobbly" pub that quickly reached its spatial limits. At some point, Peter took a ground-breaking and "wall-breaking" measure: he extended the pub area in the old tobacco factory to include the adjoining large production hall. He turned it into a lively ballroom with a concert stage. Today, guests from all over Germany cavort there on a total of 380 m².
