KOBI Seminare

Up the stairs and you're in. At KOBI e.V., the somewhat different continuing education center in the heart of the Unionviertel on Adlerstraße. Friendly faces greet us. A coffee? Oh yes, with pleasure! We take a seat, too.

We are already sitting, four women, in a cozy room with flowers - it is bright, friendly - and we exchange ideas. About KOBI e.V., about ahoi, about favorite places. KOBI has to be part of it, that quickly becomes clear to us. Because we put our heart and soul into it. We are amazed and happy about so much woman power - for more than 30 years.

Continuing education for all

Back then, a group of inquisitive people - mostly "green" clientele - got together and founded a grassroots community. "Doing something together" was the motto back then. Something innovative, something different. For example, sewing courses for men, seminars on the subject of equality. Quite innovative in the 80s.

An association was founded, an educational organization, headed by two women. Since then, KOBI has continued to develop. It has grown. But one thing has remained the same: offering a different kind of education and making it accessible to everyone. That means: no manager prices for seminars and further education, but finding a healthy middle course.

Five main areas of content

The KOBI seminars are colorful, diverse, innovative and unique. In the five areas:"Professional competence and the world of work", "Personality and potential", "Life and society","Health - body and relaxation" and"Creative movement - dance, music and theater", anyone looking for something special will find what they are looking for. For example, a seminar that introduces you to mindfulness and self-care, various yoga courses such as couple, laughter or Hata yoga, African dance and Pilates. The dance and movement courses often take place in the rooms of DEPOTS.

The "KOBIs" are always innovative, the lecturers and instructors always get involved. The association also works closely with the actors of the neighborhood, for example the Urbanists, with whom they offer joint seminars. And there are always seminars, readings and events at the Rohrmeisterei in Schwerte.

The extensive course program is published twice a year and informs you about current courses, workshops and trainings. You can also find the information directly on the KOBI website. In addition to the numerous offers, you can also rent rooms at KOBI for your own seminars or meetings.
