KW Institute for Contemporary Art addresses central questions of our present through the production, presentation and mediation of contemporary art. Since its founding more than 30 years ago, KW has established itself as an institution and lively venue for progressive artistic practices in the Berlin and international art scene. By means of exhibitions and a wide variety of event formats, KW always takes up current tendencies from the national and international contemporary art and cultural discourse and actively develops them further in collaboration with artists, with institutions, and through commissioned works. KW does not have a collection of its own, which allows the KW team a high degree of flexibility in programming and addressing the public.
