The Lenbachhaus is a modern art museum closely associated with Munich: the artists' villa and its "golden" new building originate from the former residence of the Munich "painter prince" Franz von Lenbach. The museum houses the world's largest collection of works by the Blue Rider - from Wassily Kandinsky to Franz Marc, August Macke and Gabriele Münter to Paul Klee. In addition to 19th century Munich painting, Art Nouveau and New Objectivity, the museum presents an extensive collection of works by Joseph Beuys as well as international contemporary art. With its wide range of different guided tours and workshops, it offers a diverse museum visit.
