What began as a shared vision is now a place brimming with heart, personality, and attention to detail. Marie & Johann deliberately does not see itself as a themed restaurant or a “Kasalla museum,” but rather as an authentic brewery with a soul of its own. A place with a modern sensibility that simultaneously preserves what has always defined a good Cologne brewery: warmth, openness, conviviality, and the feeling of being welcome.

Located between Rudolfplatz and Aachener Weiher, this is where classic brewery culture, contemporary cuisine, and cultural life come together. In addition to its large dining area, Marie & Johann offers space for readings, small unplugged concerts, comedy nights, and special gatherings—right in the heart of the neighborhood and close to the people.

When it comes to cuisine, Marie & Johann also focuses on quality, craftsmanship, and sustainability. The kitchen consistently focuses on seasonal ingredients, works with a network of predominantly regional suppliers within a radius of less than 100 kilometers, and deliberately avoids convenience products. Instead, the food here is prepared with genuine craftsmanship —honest and of the highest quality.
