The MiQua is currently still under construction, but will soon be an extraordinary museum in the heart of Cologne that impressively combines 2000 years of Cologne's history and culture.

Visitors can expect a fascinating exhibition that presents impressive archaeological finds and brings the city's Roman and Jewish past to life.

A particular highlight of the museum is the underground tour, which leads through the Roman governor's palace - the Praetorium - the Jewish quarter and the Christian goldsmiths' quarter. The Praetorium, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2021 as part of the Lower Germanic Limes, impresses with its majestic remains and architectural splendor. With the help of state-of-the-art technology and interactive elements, this journey through time is an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages.

The rich history of Jewish Cologne from the 15th century to the present day is impressively presented in the museum building above ground. Moving stories and valuable artifacts await you here.

MiQua is the result of close cooperation between the City of Cologne and the Rhineland Regional Association.

The MiQua:forum - a showcase for the museum of the future

Even before the MiQua opens, the MiQua:forum in the Red House on Alter Markt offers you a window into the future museum. Visit us every Thursday from 1pm to 8pm. From 4 pm, our curators and the director of MiQua offer a varied and entertaining range of information. Get to know stories of 2000 years of coexistence in the heart of Cologne and learn more about construction, Jewish life and Roman and medieval archaeological finds.
