The Villa Hammerschmidt in Bonn has been the official residence of the Federal President since 1950. In its more than 40-year history as the first official residence, it has become a symbol of the young democracy in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Today, the villa in Bonn is the venue for meetings, events and discussions between the Federal President and guests from Germany and abroad.
