The Landesmusikrat Niedersachsen e.V. is the umbrella organization for Lower Saxony’s musical culture and, with 51 state associations, state groups, and institutions, represents more than half a million citizens who are involved in music in Lower Saxony, either professionally or as amateurs. It thus embodies Lower Saxony’s vibrant musical network and is committed to safeguarding and further developing it for the long term.

Through its operational departments—the General Secretariat, the Administrative Office, theState Music Academy, andMusikland Niedersachsen—it offers advice, services, and information on all matters related to music culture. The State Music Council receives institutional funding from the State of Lower Saxony and is recognized as an organization supporting youth work.
