Juan Carlos Rosa Casasola

Juan-Carlos Rosa-Casasola (Juancar, he/him) is a transdisciplinary artist from Benidorm, Spain, who has lived in Berlin since 2015. In addition to his artistic practice, he works as a graphic designer and leads creative drawing and painting workshops.

In hispaintings, drawings, and installations, he explores the boundaries between public and private, analog and digital, and individual and collective. His current work focuses on connection, vulnerability, and healing. They explore how creativity and shared experiences can create spaces where connection, self-reflection, and personal growth become possible.

As a response to increasing isolation and sensory overload, his works invite viewers to pause and reconnect with themselves and others through visual and emotional presence. Juancar also explores these themes inparticipatory workshops, which he leads in German, English, and Spanish. In these workshops, he combines drawing, painting, movement, and mindfulness to create collaborative creative experiences.

His works have been shown in solo and group exhibitions at venues including the Centre del Carme Cultura Contemporània (Valencia), the CCCB (Barcelona), and the Kulturforum Berlin. In addition, he has participated in art fairs such as the Hybrid Art Fair (Madrid) and festivals such as 48 Stunden Neukölln, and has exhibited in galleries including U8 HAUS (Berlin), Luis Adelantado (Valencia), and Espai Salmaia (Altea).

Juan-Carlos Rosa-Casasola studied fine arts at the Universitat Politècnica de València and graduated with honors. He subsequently completed master’s programs in art production, multimedia art, and creative design. Since moving to Berlin, he has also worked as a graphic designer for cultural institutions such as the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, the Schwules Museum, and the agency Runze & Casper.

Since October 2025, he has been curating and organizing exhibitions on a volunteer basis for the nonprofitcultural association Fincan e.V. inBerlin-Neukölln.
