Rossini's overture to Guillaume Tell is a composed departure: the sound of nature, movement, energy, tense anticipation and a determined will to move forward. Freedom appears here as a gesture of beginning, immediate and physical. With Sibelius, the departure is directed inwards. The Violin Concerto in D minor becomes a concentrated monologue for the solo violin - virtuoso, angular, characterized by Nordic clarity and inner tension. Dvořák's Symphony No. 8 leads into the open: melody, rhythm and joie de vivre combine to create music that breathes, narrates and fills the room with human warmth.
