12MIN.ME | FOCUS: DEMOCRACY

Hand on heart: when was the last time you thought about the fact that you could say, do and leave exactly what YOU wanted today? We often take it for granted, like the Wi-Fi in the coffee bar - but democracy is not a given. It is the operating system on which our freedom runs.

Because we think this system urgently needs an update (and a good dose of appreciation), we are launching our new event series FOCUS: Democracy.

In our usual 12-minute format, we are bringing experts, shapers and visionaries to the stage. No lengthy debates, but deep dives with punch. What you can expect:

1. the foundation: what actually makes democracy possible 🕊️

We take a look at the privileged life we can lead thanks to democracy. Why is individual freedom the engine of innovation? We celebrate what we often overlook: That we can have a say, disagree and flourish. Democracy is not just a form of government, it is our greatest opportunity.

2. the reality check: media, education & insight 🧠

In a world full of fake news and filter bubbles, media literacy is the most important currency. How do we form our own opinions without sinking into the algorithm swamp? We discuss why education is the foundation for a defensive society and how we can learn to separate fact from fiction.

3rd Let's Get Loud: Participation & the shapers of today for tomorrow ✊

Democracy is not a spectator sport! We put the spotlight on people and initiatives that don't just complain, but do. Who are the people who are actively shaping our city, our country and our society? Be inspired by projects that show: Your voice counts - even outside the voting booth.

Time is our most valuable asset - don't waste it! "Don't waste your time!" - is our motto and we live it. We bring education, innovation and inspiring topics into a relaxed after-work format where old and new economy meet.

The evening includes 3x

• 12 minutes lecture
• 12 minutes Q&A
• 12 minutes of networking

How do we keep our promise? Our events include three really informative, entertaining and honest talks. The clue -each speakerhas exactly 12 minutes to tell her or his **story and cover all the important content. Time is running out... Not a second longer! Then it's the audience's turn. With the questions and we go deeper into the topic! And, how could it be otherwise? You also have 12 minutes in the Q&A session. This is followed by 12 minutes of networking so that you can connect personally and directly or simply refresh yourself and be ready for the next presentation.
