The Turkish Delicatessen Backgammon Tournament has been bringing people of all ages and backgrounds together for over 12 years.
Once again, there are trophies and small prizes for the winners.
We appreciate a donation (8 to 9,- €) to cover the expenses.
Pre-registration for the tournament by email at tavla@sueperdisko.de by Sat 01.02.2024. Registration on site is also possible until 17:00!!! However, late participation reduces the chances of reaching the final, as there is less time to collect points. Details in the rules.
IMPORTANT!!! Read briefly!!!
THE RULES:
We are again playing a new tournament system, (previously the preliminary round was divided into groups) which was developed by Julia & Meriç and which we introduced last summer. This allows us to increase the flow of play and it is possible to enter the tournament later - although the chances of progressing are reduced.
The details:
There are no more groups, instead all players can play against everyone else. You choose your teammates yourself. Multiple matches are also possible. A game always goes to two points. One point is awarded per win. Two points are awarded if you win without your opponent throwing out a stone. We call this Mars. One point is awarded for each game win. Please report to the tournament director in person after the game. The preliminary round lasts until 18:00/18:30. The players with the most points will advance to the final round. This means that you can also join the tournament later, but your chances of collecting many points will decrease.
The tournament takes place as part of Café Istanbul. The reading with Şehnaz Dost will also take place in this setting. The tournament will be briefly interrupted during the three 15-minute readings.
The final round will be played in at least semi-finals and finals. Semi-finals and, if applicable, quarter-finals are played to three points, finals to five points.
General rules: Free stacking is allowed. The most important rule is - there are no rules or limits, only basics. For all other questions about rules etc. please contact the tournament organizers.
See you soon at Café Istanbul
