20 Jahre kookbooks – Das Fest

In the organizer's words:

"No publishing house has shaken up the current poetry landscape like this one, which has no house, no employees and hardly any capital," Dieter M. Gräf wrote in Freitag on kookbooks' birthday. Founded as a "poet:s self-defense", kookbooks has been making "poetry as a way of life" visible and tangible for 20 years. Under the hands of poet Daniela Seel and graphic designer Andreas Töpfer, poetry reveals itself as a pulsating mesh of aesthetic and social currents. To celebrate the anniversary, the Haus für Poesie and the Literarisches Colloquium Berlin are hosting a festival: with performances, a colloquium, a reception, and a casino evening with readings and conversations.

4 p.m. | Performance
By Rike Scheffler and Miche Moreno

4:30 p.m. | Colloquium
Four young poet:s at the beginning of their writing careers-Yohan Holtkamp, Uwe Huth, Ozan Zakariya Keskinkılıç, and Regina Menke-will be asked by Daniela Seel and Frieda Paris about their view of the state of poetic affairs: what has changed in the last two decades? What is the state of poetry as a way of life, especially in light of the much-touted crisis of small independent publishers and a currently marginalized poetry criticism? How are poetics changing, seeking to respond to a rapidly changing discourse at the cutting edge without paying homage to the zeitgeist? To what extent has this changed the understanding of experimental and political poetry at all?
