28. Endless Grind - Old School Skatboard Session

It’s time to grind for the 28th time—holy shit! Once again, in addition to the local scene, we’re expecting skateboarders from Berlin, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Cologne, and many other cities to indulge in the early days of skateboarding. This event pays homage to the early ’60s, when Californian surfers screwed wheels onto their boards so they could ride the streets as “asphalt surfers.”

From noon to 9 p.m., the Endless Grind will feature the four tried-and-true contests: Street, Pool, Long Jump, and High Jump. In addition, prizes will be awarded for the Longest (Endless) Grind in the pool, as well as for Mr. and Mrs. Old School.

The key rule for all contests is that only old-school tricks may be performed. So it’s not about the level of difficulty, but about the style. And anyone who also rides an old-school board and is dressed in the appropriate attire can expect to win a prize.

As the name “Old School” suggests, only people with skateboards can participate in the daytime session. However, BMXers and others are warmly invited to watch—it’s definitely worth it! After all, it’s also about hanging out together, chatting, talking shop, and partying.

Registration takes place on-site on the day of the event! The contests will be hosted. There’ll be skate music from the turntable and live music by New Old Friends by the pool.
