Ab Bol - Consilium Humanum

In the organizer's words:

Stones, feathers, shells; even as a young boy, Ab Bol collected everything that seemed beautiful and unusual to him in nature. Today, the artist from Rotterdam processes his collection of found natural materials in his Consilium Humanum, a network of various boxes, crates and boxes that are organized in the same way that Carl von Linné has done with various living things in biology. However, Ab turns the tables: Instead of plants, fungi and animals, he describes the various facets of human life - from the perspective of nature. In this way, he achieves what ecological movements have tried to do time and time again: To reunite man with nature and to think of the two not as separate elements, but as belonging together.

The three-day exhibition takes place at K49 in Cologne Bayenthal, curated by Mattis Grotehusmann.

Vernissage: Fri, May 29, 2026, 6-10 pm.

Sat/Sun, May 30 & 31, 11 am - 6 pm.
