BSMG is the association of the Black German hip-hop artists Megaloh, Ghanaian Stallion, Musa and Amewu - a collective that uses its music to educate Afro-descendants, negotiate post-colonial issues, criticize the system and initiate significant discourses on current German and diasporic conditions. The acronym BSMG can be broken down in various ways: Black Superman Group, Brothers and Sisters More Community, Brothers and Sisters Move Globally. What all meanings have in common is the fact that it is about the self-empowerment of the Black community in Germany.
To mark the opening of the Global Fascisms exhibition at Haus der Kulturen der Welt and as part of the heimaten festival for plural democracy, BSMG will be presenting the second part of their event series Knowing the past, interpreting the present, shaping the future and asking: How do we deal with the current shift to the right? For a big concert evening, Megaloh, Ghanaian Stallion, Musa and Amewu, together with guests Ace Tee, BENSH47 alias Benji Asare, Luna Simao and special guest: Deluxe, will take over the stage in the Miriam Makeba Auditorium at HKW - in the spirit of a defensive stance and resistance through music.
