ACT Night: daoud
In the organizer's words:
Daoud is considered the enfant terrible of jazz: an artist who breaks the rules and, in doing so, captivates new listeners as well as jazz connoisseurs. His music oscillates between playfulness and seriousness, chaos and tenderness, irony and great openness. With his new album *ok* (ACT, 2025), the French-Moroccan trumpeter and composer offers a very personal expression of what he stands for.
In November, daoud will perform with his band at the Gretchen—as part of a larger European tour. Live, the band blends quiet, lyrical moments with high energy and a joy of playing. The concerts are at times intimate and vulnerable, at times wild and euphoric—and always full of surprises.
Following acclaimed performances at venues including Ronnie Scott’s, North Sea Jazz, Elbjazz, and Montreux, this concert at the Gretchen offers the opportunity to experience daoud in one of Berlin’s most exciting live music venues.
